Open-cell foam

Professional complete solution

What Is Open-Cell Foam?

Open-cell PUR foam is a modern insulation material that is applied by spraying directly on-site. During the process, two components are mixed in specialized equipment at the correct temperature and pressure, after which the liquid expands in less than 10 seconds to up to 100 times its original volume. When combined, the components of the Purios open-cell system form a semi-flexible insulation layer with excellent adhesion.

Technical Properties of Open-Cell Foam

As a result of continuous research and development, a material with unique physical and insulating properties has been created:

  • Excellent Thermal Insulation: A low thermal conductivity coefficient (λ in the range of 0.036–0.038 W/mK) effectively protects the building from both cooling and overheating.

  • Complete Airtightness: A single foam layer expands to approximately 8 cm in thickness, filling all cracks, gaps, and uneven surfaces, creating a monolithic, seamless insulation layer.

  • Breathability and Vapor Permeability: Open pores allow moisture to move freely through the insulation and exit the building, preventing condensation and protecting structural elements.

  • Health Safety and Hygiene: The material is certified by the National Institute for Public Health and is suitable for use even in hospitals and the food industry. It prevents the spread of mold and microorganisms.

  • Sound Insulation: In addition to thermal insulation, PUR foam is an excellent material for noise reduction and improving acoustic comfort.

Key Benefits for Property Owners

  • Long-Term Stability: The manufacturer guarantees that the material’s key properties (dimensions, thermal insulation, fire resistance) remain stable for at least 25 years.

  • Fast Installation: A professional team can insulate up to 200 m² in just one day, accelerating the construction process by an average of two weeks.

  • Lightweight: Due to its low density, the foam does not overload building structures, making it ideal for renovating older roofs and ceilings.

  • Energy Efficiency: A 25 cm thick layer already meets modern strict building regulations and energy efficiency directives, significantly reducing heating and cooling costs.

Where to Use It?

Thanks to its flexibility and expansion capability, the foam can be applied even in the most hard-to-reach areas. It is the best choice for:

  • Attics and roof ceilings

  • Interior walls and intermediate floors

  • Complex structures where traditional insulation boards would leave thermal bridges

Purios E – Modern Open-Cell Insulation System

Purios E is a professional two-component spray-applied thermal insulation system that provides a fast and efficient solution for building insulation. During spraying, two liquid components are mixed and expand within seconds to more than 100 times their original volume, filling all voids and uneven surfaces without the need for additional installation work.

Key System Advantages:

  • Long-Lasting Performance: A manufacturer-issued certificate confirms that the foam retains its thermal insulation properties for at least 25 years.

  • Airtight and Uniform Layer: The spray-applied material evenly covers the surface, filling cracks and holes that would otherwise cause heat loss with traditional materials.

  • Breathable Structure: Purios E is vapor-permeable, allowing water vapor to move through the cells and creating a “breathing wall” effect—critical for timber-frame houses and roofs.

  • Fire Safety: A self-extinguishing material that does not spread flames.

  • Healthy Indoor Climate: Completely safe for health and suitable even for highly sensitive individuals.

Quality Installation and Technical Precision

The effectiveness of the Purios E system is achieved through specialized equipment and certified installers. During installation, strict control is maintained over component ratios, pressure, temperature, and air and surface moisture levels to ensure the highest insulation quality.

Unlike traditional insulation materials, Purios E foam has no joints or thermal bridges. Its monolithic structure ensures a stable indoor temperature and significantly reduces heat loss.

Areas of Application

Thanks to its light weight and breathability, Purios E is the primary choice for insulating timber structures. It is ideally suited for:

  • Facades and interior walls

  • Ceilings and attics

  • Timber-frame houses and insulation between rafters

Purios ET – Ultra-Light and Eco-Friendly Insulation Solution

Purios ET is a next-generation polyurethane system designed for efficient and safe building insulation. It is the lightest foam in the Purios product range, weighing only about 10 kg per cubic meter, making it ideal for renovating older and load-sensitive structures. Thanks to its partial flexibility, the material tolerates structural movement caused by temperature changes and wind.

Key System Benefits:

  • Exceptional Lightness and Strength: The low weight does not burden the building frame, while the strength ensures long-term durability.

  • Eco-Friendly Technology: Purios ET is produced using partially recycled materials (e.g., rPET), making it safe for residents, animals, and the environment.

  • Complete Airtightness Without Thermal Bridges: The spray-applied liquid expands in less than 10 seconds, filling all gaps and forming a uniform, adhesive insulation layer.

  • Time and Cost Savings: Since the foam adheres directly to any surface, there is no need for expensive metal frames or cutting and gluing insulation boards.

  • Long-Term Warranty: Studies confirm that Purios polyurethane foam retains its insulating properties for at least 25 years.

Maximum Energy Efficiency and Comfort

A recommended foam thickness of 26 cm ensures optimal indoor temperature year-round—retaining heat in winter and preventing overheating in summer. In addition to excellent thermal insulation, Purios ET’s vapor permeability (“breathability”) helps regulate indoor humidity and prevent moisture-related damage.

Areas of Application

Thanks to its light weight and high expansion capability, Purios ET is a versatile choice for insulating various building components:

  • Attics and roof spaces

  • Facades and interior walls

  • Intermediate floors

To ensure a high-quality result, installation is carried out by our certified specialists using professional equipment and strictly following the manufacturer’s guidelines for pressure, temperature, and humidity.

Purios F – Fast and Breathable Insulation for Timber Structures

Purios F is a modern system solution designed specifically for insulating timber-frame attics, walls, and ceilings. During spraying, two components are mixed to form a monolithic foam layer within seconds, filling all cracks and voids without additional fasteners. It is one of the fastest methods for home insulation—insulating a typical attic takes just one day.

Key System Advantages:

  • Exceptional Breathability: Purios F consists of more than 90% open cells, allowing moisture to move freely through the material. This regulates humidity and prevents mold growth, which is especially important for wooden buildings.

  • Complete Airtightness: The liquid mixture expands 100 times during application, penetrating even the most hard-to-reach areas and creating a seamless insulation layer.

  • Safe for Health and Environment: The product is certified by the National Institute for Public Health, confirming its safety for people and animals. It is suitable even for food storage facilities and cold rooms.

  • Long-Term Stability: A manufacturer-issued certificate guarantees that key parameters such as thermal conductivity and fire resistance remain stable for at least 25 years.

  • Lightweight and Semi-Rigid: Purios F is both light and durable, does not overload structures, and maintains its shape and properties for decades.

Maximum Year-Round Efficiency

Thanks to its excellent thermal insulation, Purios F keeps the house warm in winter and cool in summer, preventing heat loss due to the absence of joints. To ensure professional results, installation is carried out by our certified specialists using specialized equipment and strictly following specified temperature and pressure regimes.

Areas of Application

Due to its vapor permeability and excellent adhesion, Purios F is the preferred choice for:

  • Insulating timber-frame houses
